When we get stressed, it raises our cortisol and that can then be stored (if levels are high), around our mid-section like a spare tyre. It can lead to heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and osteoporosis. It may increase appetite and make you have lack of energy or difficulty sleeping.
What can we do to help combat it?
More toning exercises and less cardio, can help lower the cortisol levels in the body and help focus the mind.
Think about lowering your sugar, coffee and alcohol intake, as this can put our bodies under stress internally.
Eating nutrient-dense foods like fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains can improve mood and reduce the impact of stress on the body.Make to do lists and have a plan.
Keep hydrated!
Get a good nights sleep.
Some deep-box breathing can help - breathe in for the count of 4, hold for 4, breathe out for the count of 4.
Take a walk outside.
Do something once a week that makes you laugh.
All my classes are fun and have a toning element so doing my classes will help you to combat stress much better!
